Callas is more than a restaurant – it is a stage, where design and gastronomy merge into a contemporary Greek tragedy. Conceived by our studio for Almaty, the project pays homage to both the raw landscapes of the Aegean and the immortal voice of Maria Callas, whose name it bears
The space is sculpted like a cavern temple: monumental white stone walls, cut as if by gods themselves, rise with gravity and silence. The architecture is elemental, stripped to its essence – rock, wood, and fire. In their shadow, cobalt blue elements burn like fragments of the sea and the night sky, recalling the drama of Yves Klein and the eternal Mediterranean horizon
Every corner carries the weight of myth. Dark wooden stools and tables resemble relics carved from ancient ships. Olive trees stand as living witnesses of time, while luminous blue lanterns glow like sacred flames. The air itself feels charged – poised between austerity and passion
The culinary program echoes this dramaturgy: mezze arrives like a prologue, grilled fish as the heroic act, desserts as catharsis. Wine and cocktails are staged with ritual precision, invoking the essence of Dionysian feasts
Callas is not just a dining destination. It is a performance, an invocation of beauty, melancholy, and grandeur – where guests become both spectators and participants. In Almaty, it brings the voice of Greece: powerful, fragile, eternal
