Modern Kazakh restaurant on Abylai Khan Avenue with authentic cuisine, national ornaments & contemporary design

Rumi is a modern Kazakh cuisine restaurant located on Abylai Khan Avenue in Almaty. Designed by our studio, the project reinterprets national traditions through a contemporary lens, celebrating Kazakhstan’s heritage while offering a refined hospitality experience

The interiors merge authentic motifs with minimalist, organic aesthetics. Traditional ornaments are reimagined as wall art and laser-cut partitions, while the color palette draws from earth, grasslands, and steppe flowers. Raw stone, natural wood, and textured plaster establish a tactile foundation, complemented by turquoise accents and seasonal floral arrangements

Design highlights include bespoke seating upholstered in Central Asian-inspired textiles, bentwood chairs, and elongated pendant lamps in terracotta tones. Together, these elements create a light-filled, elegant atmosphere suitable for daily dining as well as cultural gatherings
